We've had some serious joy over our garden this year. It has been such a fabulous place to get our hands dirty, watch the plants grow and harvest vegetables nearly everyday. Lily eats most of the tomatoes, both big and small, right off the vine.
We also have cucumbers, strawberries, snap peas, carrots, and edamame. The carrots are just now starting to get big enough to pull and we have no idea how or when to pick the edamame.
The language around the experience has been enormous. From pesky rabbits to using the water from our rain barrel to water the gardens, we've experienced so much this summer. We've also added a few more vegetables to Lily's diet.
Kids do enjoy getting dirty, and Lily is a proof of that. You will really benefit from having your own garden, as you don't need to spend for some vegetables you might need. And it's good that Lily knows how to appreciate vegetables, as she literally eats them right off the vine! LOL!
