Excellent article on how music changes our brains. We've long been a believer in incorporating "music therapy" in all forms in Lily's auditory rehab, as there is growing evidence in its impact for listening and language.
I'm often reminded of the person who told me "there was no proof, I was wrong in believing this, and that they wouldn't even consider this as a part of LIly's therapy." Glad we didn't listen to this advice.
You had an administrator say what?! Wowza. I'm glad you didn't listen!

Re: [Life is Bliss - Lilys Cochlear Implant Journey] CIMusicResearch submitted a comment to Music changes our brains
Yep. Left in tears. Im much tougher now :) - They told me to prove it. So I started connecting with Music Therapists around the country to gather evidence. Also hired a private MT to come to our home and enrolled in Kindermusik classes. Ended up with a big binder of research, but unfortunately never got to present it. The good outcome was that it opened my eyes to this discipline/research/practice of which I never would have known about.
